The Concept and Facility
Jewels Legacy Garden is a family-oriented care center. The whole idea is to allow the staff to be the caregivers, and the family to be the family.
One look inside and a visitor will see that we are not the old folk’s home from the 1970's and 80's. The walls and cabinets are painted so it isn’t a stark white. These colors carry over into the rooms. All rooms have a 1/2 bath, 32-inch TV capable of playing various medias or watching cable TV. There is secure high-speed internet available throughout the building.
The general visiting hours are from 8 AM until 8 PM; however, exceptions can be made. If the family is here at mealtime and wishes to eat a day’s advance notice is appreciated.
Taking a loved one out for a home visit is encouraged, and so is bringing in personal items to make them feel more at home.
The Owners
Sam has been in the healthcare field for over 40 years. During this time she been a volunteer, Nurse's aid, Certified Nursing assistant, LPN, and RN. Since becoming a Registered Nurse She has been Awarded Southern Utah's Home Healthcare and Hospice Nurse of the year in 2014 by the SUU Nursing program. She has found that being a nurse is more than vocation; it is a calling. As part of being a Nurse Sam also teaches as an Adjunct in the CNA program at Dixie State University.
She and Dave have volunteered for the past 14 years during the annual St. George marathon; operating the aid station at mile 13 on the marathon route.
During her spare time she enjoys spending time with her kids, and grand-kids. she also enjoys camping, fishing, and sewing.

Dave
Dave has been in public service since 1978 when he started as a Life Guard in Roy, UT. In 1980 he enlisted in the US Coast Guard, and spent ten years traveling throughout the the United States. Beside being a CNA he was also a Certified Riders Coach and taught Motorcycle Safety at DSU
After which he returned to Utah. In 2008 Sam and he were married and have been going strong ever since.
When he has a chance he likes to spend time with the family, go camping, and taking road trips on his motorcycle.
